For the site-specific exhibition TRANS FORM AKTION in September 2013, 16 artists were invited to deal with the five floors, the facade and the outdoor space of House III&70: with its idiosyncratic architecture, history and its surroundings, which are characterized by complex processes of change. Worlds collide between »Galao-Strich«, Roter Flora, III&70 and Flora-Park. The checkered history of the quarter is reflected in that of the house on the schulterblatt 73: Founded in 1889 as a "culture and society house", it later became the Hotel Rom, in the 1920s the dance café, then the carpet store Kummer and in 2007 the culture house III&70. The artists have taken up this transformation - in terms of content, form or performance, thus enabling new perspectives on the place. The works ranged from poetic-sensual installations such as a projected pool in the stairwell by Antje Blumenstein and the expansive work External_Eternal by Silvia Iorio, in which a small universe was created using found materials, to performative actions, for example by Achim Riethmann, who planted a tree root from the quarter during the entire duration of the exhibition to a large, widely visible facade painting by Heiko Zahlmann. This resulted in a transformation of the area over five floors up to the outside space and from the many individual works that were connected through the history and architecture of the location, a critical and poetic intervention in the Schanzenviertel.

TRANS FORM AKTION was funded by the district culture of the district of Altona and by the Park Initiative Grüne Flora, Punkt.Schanze e. V. and mateco.
