In the tradition of discursive RealismStudio exhibitions, Lois Weinberger is the focus of attention, a trailblazer and crosser who has influenced debates about art and its engagement with nature since the late 1980s. Since then, ruderal spontaneous vegetation has dominated his examination of natural and civilized spaces and the phenomenon of an over-controlled society. His metaphor for today's migration movements, which questions arbitrary boundaries and hierarchies, turns out to be a radical alternative to the capitalist exploitation industry. In the nGbK, works that were created in 1994/95 during his scholarship at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin or refer to them are shown in a larger context for the first time.

In the curatorial experiment CONJUNCTIONS, Weinberger's complex work is illuminated and discursively expanded with the help of the artistic positions of Heath Bunting and Ladislav Zajac - in the roles of a satellite and a reflector. Heath Bunting, who describes himself as an ›artivist‹, was one of the co-founders of the »net.art« and »sport-art« movements in the 1990s and was one of the first flash mobbers and founder of the internet platform irational, which still exists today. org. The artist radically questions hierarchies and power relations, exposes existing power structures and capitalist appropriation processes. Ladislav Zajac, who uses mostly minimalist interventions to show the peculiarities of specific places and situations, reflects on the spatial and temporal dimensions of the exhibition and creates connections.

Parallel to the exhibition, two rear tracks at the Bernauer Strasse underground station will be used, and motifs by all three participating artists will be hung up wildly in the urban space.

The exhibition publication includes texts by Christin Lahr and Isabelle Meiffert and a conversation between Lois Weinberger, Heath Bunting, Ladislav Zajac, Wolfgang Schröder, Christin Lahr and Isabelle Meiffert. Publisher of the nGbK. ISBN: 978-3-938515-70-9
